Homesteading is gaining traction as a functional lifestyle for all ages. The pressures of modern life have forced us to take another look at our relationship to the land and community.
Good League Hence (GLH) advocates homesteading as a viable way of life and provides consultations, educational resources, homecrafted products and events.

GLH takes its name from a verse in the Christmas carol, Good King Wenceslas, capturing the moment when his squire identifies a yonder peasant who "lives a good league hence underneath the mountain, right against the forest fence by St. Agnes Fountain." GLH helps neighbors, no matter how far away.

Lay of the Land

As advocates for homesteading, we organize community events, such as our annual Homesteading Festival to foster relationships and provide guidance on skills neccessary for human flourishing.

GLH provides reading lists, income providing manuals, and helps you discover the thinkers and doers of the homesteading world. Books, podcasts, articles and more can be found on our education page.

We aim to restore order to the land by planting seeds that yield multi-generational fruit.

By educating the mind, heart and hands, we give our community the tools to till the soil in their lives.

Good League Hence offers goods from homesteading communities, for homesteading communities.

GLH aims to grow an alternative economy and culture that serves local and regional homesteaders, farmers, tradesmen, artisans, inventors, and merchants.

Beeswax Dipped Pinecone Firestarter

Homesteader's Hearth Beeswax Dipped Pinecone Firestarters are hand crafted in house at Good League Hence. They were designed with natural safety in mind, and release no harmful chemicals. We do not use any petroleum based enhancers, creating a safe and natural flame.

GLH Sawbuck

GLH is proud to sell the Foldable Sawbuck with Removable Tabletop, handcrafted by fellow homesteaders. Carved from wood chopped by our friends and engraved with Good League Hence, this multi-purpose marvel features as both a sawbuck and a picnic table. Fold it open and place a log to begin sawing, or purchase a tabletop (sold separately) to use as a table or workspace.

Shire Wood

Shire Wood is a bundle package consisting of 8 logs, wrapped in burlap for easy use - simply place in the fireplace and light the fabric. Firewood is cut, hand chopped and packaged by Good League Hence. We do not ship firewood due to shipping and handling costs. Available for pickup at Ace Hardware 2983 N Druid Hills Rd NE, Atlanta, GA or by appointment.
