About Us
Good League Hence (GLH) is operated by Joel Peddle as a way to support the restoration of homesteading in America. GLH takes its name from a verse in the Christmas Carol, Good King Wenceslas, capturing the moment when his squire identifies a yonder peasant who "lives a good league hence underneath the mountain, right against the forest fence by St. Agnes Fountain." GLH helps neighbors, no matter how far away.

Currently, we are selling our Homesteader's Hearth Collection. This consists of firestarters for your hearth, kindling sticks, bundles of seasoned firewood, and sawdust/coffee briquettes-- for indoor and outdoor use.
We feature foldable sawbucks that are excellent for cutting logs (bucking). Our sawbucks come with table tops serving as a workbench or dinner table. We create mosquito repellent candles containing 100% beeswax, coffee grounds, cedar chips and rosemary. We will also provide such artisan quality products as: handcrafted birdhouses, coffee coasters, flowerboxes, and a variety of organic soil enrichment items.
In the near future, we aim to introduce our Shire Collection featuring Tolkien-themed tool sheds, dog houses, tree forts, and root cellars. Future plans include offering consultations on how your family may transition to a homesteading way of life, both in the city and in the country.
