Why Pinecones?

In my youth, I enjoyed the aroma of honey and pure beeswax. Later in life, I discovered the function, form, and beauty of pinecones. Now, my friends and I take great pleasure in combining pinecones and beeswax in our workshop. Together, we have gleaned some insight from observing our friend, the pinecone.

Pinecones are associated with spiritual enlightenment and eternal truths, since they are born from evergreen trees. In Ancient Greece, Sumer, Mesopotamia, and Catholic Italy, pinecones awakened humankind to respecting life and passing on sacred traditions.

The mystery of sacred geometry is present in the pinecone. The base of a pinecone corresponds to a mathematical sequence formulated by Leonardo Fibonacci. The patterned proportions convey that the universe is ordered, benign, and beautiful.
