The Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan is a parable from the Gospel of Luke. When Jesus is preaching on loving thy neighbor, he is asked "Who is my neighbor?" This prompts the parable of a Samaritan going out of his way to help a Jewish man. He crossed social, political and religious divide, risking great shame an scandal to himself to show charity to another. This candle features a Vatican stamp with the inscription "Samaritanus misericordia motus est" which translates to "The Samaritan is moved by compassion"
